Description
Photographed directly below Chicago’s Tiffany glass dome reveals one of the most spectacular ceilings in the Windy City—and perhaps the world. It's 38 feet in diameter, and it's the colorful dome that is the prominent feature of Preston Bradley Hall in the city’s Cultural Center downtown. The leading mosaicist at Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company of New York in the late 1800s, Jacob A. Holzer, designed the ceiling using about 30,000 individual pieces of glass. Each piece is shaped like a fish scale. Pretty neat! And you, too, can own a stunning piece of Chicago for your home or office as a beautiful square photograph.
